Post traumatic stress disorder is a severe mental disorder which occurred by a terrifying event either experiencing the even or by witnessing the event. In this disorder symptoms may include flashbacks, nightmares or any uncontrollable thoughts about the past event.

People’s who are suffering from traumatic events they have temporary difficulty in adjusting and coping with the situation but at times files they usually get better. If the symptoms get worse, it may last for several months or for years and even it affect your day to day functioning it may consider that the person is suffering from PTSD.

Symptoms for the post traumatic stress disorder may start within one month of experiencing the traumatic event. Those symptoms can vary over time and person to person. They may experience intrusive memories like reliving the traumatic event what they experience earlier, or some emotional stress, or some physical reactions that reminds of the traumatic event again. They feel some symptoms of avoidance too. Like they are trying to avoid talking or avoid thinking about the traumatic event, avoiding the place where that traumatic event may take place.
Some symptoms are like negative changes in thinking or mood swings. They feel hopelessness about the future, feeling emotionally numb, or difficulty maintaining any relationships.

PTSD symptoms can vary time to time. One may feel the symptoms very high when someone is stressed, or if anyone feel that they might fall into any trouble which may lead there life back under control.

Peoples of all ages can have post traumatic stress disorder. The factors that increase PTSD are - having other mental health problems, such as anxiety or depression.

Getting timely help and support may prevent PTSD affected people from getting worse. Getting support from others can prevent to someone from turning to unhealthy coping methods, such as misuse of alcohol and drugs.
